LASIK
LASIK, or Laser in-Situ Keratomilieusis offers a number of benefits over other forms of laser vision correction because it is performed under a protective layer of corneal tissue. As a result, there is less surface area to heal, less risk of corneal haze, less postoperative discomfort, less postoperative need for medications, and vision returns more rapidly, often within a day or so. more
Cataracts
Since Intra-Ocular Lenses (IOLs) were first implanted wide spread in the United States in the 1970's most patients had very little or no choice in the type of IOL that was implanted in their cataract surgery. Traditionally the IOLs used in catarat surgery would give the patients clear distance vision, but would require the patient to wear reading glasses for near vision needs. more
